Education Beyond the Box
Writer: Vijay Madan
Vijay stared at the photograph of students wearing cardboard boxes over their heads during an exam, his heart heavy. Education, once a sacred pursuit rooted in trust and wisdom, had become a battlefield of fear and conformity.
He thought of the Gurukuls of ancient India, where students lived with their gurus, learning not just knowledge but the art of life. Education then was a dialogue—a search for truth, character, and self-reliance. Today, it had devolved into a race for grades, stripping the soul from learning.
“What have we done to our children?” he whispered. “Education should free minds, not cage them.”
Determined, Vijay resolved to remind the world of education’s true purpose: to inspire curiosity, foster ethics, and nurture the spirit. Not to box students in, but to set their minds free.
